Online Charter Schools To Open in Florida — THE Journal.

Students in Florida’s Hillsborough and Lee Counties will be able to attend online public charter schools this fall.

The free schools for students in grades 6-12, Pivot Charter School Hillsborough and Pivot Charter School Fort Myer, feature core courses aligned to Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and comply with all Florida graduation requirements.

The schools will also offer more than 15 advanced placement courses, electives, service learning, early graduation, and dual enrollment in college courses.

Students will be required to attend on-site sessions for four to five hours a day, where they will engage in coursework, receive assistance and instruction from both online and on-site teachers, take part in small group instruction, individual tutoring, or other activities. Students will also have immediate access to online teachers 24 hours a day.
